About Us

Our History

From humble beginnings rooted in service and community, our story began on May 22, 1961, when ten dedicated educators from the Oswego City School District came together with a shared vision. They established a financial cooperative designed to support fellow educators—built on trust, mutual respect, and the belief that people helping people could make a meaningful difference.

As the needs of our community grew, so did our commitment. On January 16, 1973, those same founding educators expanded our charter to extend membership to the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown and Central Square School Districts, as well as Oswego County BOCES. This milestone marked the beginning of a broader mission: to serve more educators and their families across Oswego County.

Just a few years later, in 1979, we continued that growth by welcoming the Sandy Creek, Mexico, and Pulaski School Districts into our membership. Each expansion strengthened our foundation and reinforced our dedication to supporting the individuals who shape future generations.

In the years that followed, we further extended our reach by including the Hannibal School District, continuing our tradition of thoughtful and purposeful growth.

Today, while much has changed, our core mission remains the same. We are proud to serve the educators of Oswego County, along with their families and our valued retirees, providing personalized financial services rooted in integrity and care.

In recent years, we’ve also expanded membership opportunities to include community organizations such as the Oswego Players—because we believe strong communities are built not only in classrooms, but through the arts and shared experiences as well.

For over six decades, we have remained committed to the people who dedicate their lives to others. And as we look to the future, we continue to honor our legacy by serving with the same spirit that started it all.
